Booster pump FAQs

What are booster pumps for?

Mains water booster pumps increase the flow rate and pressure from your mains supply. Shower booster pumps boost pressure on gravity-fed shower systems. Common in properties with low street pressure or upper-floor bathrooms.

Do I need one?

If your shower runs weak, taps trickle, or multi-tap usage drops the pressure to nothing — probably yes. We can test your current mains pressure on site and recommend.

How much does it cost?

Service/repair £120 to £250 +VAT. New install is quoted separately after a site survey — depends on pump size, power, and installation complexity.

What brands do you fit?

Grundfos, Salamander, Stuart Turner, Wilo, and others. We can advise on the right pump for your property, flow demand, and noise sensitivity.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Standard call-out and travel always included.

Is there a noise concern?

Modern booster pumps are quiet but not silent. We can install in a cupboard or utility space, with anti-vibration mounts to reduce transmitted noise.

Low water pressure?

Engineer on site within 2 hours. Phone answered within 20 minutes. No call-out fee.
