Who needs an electric boiler?
Homes without a mains gas connection, flats and apartments with limited flue options, small properties, or anywhere a gas boiler is impractical. Electric boilers are also popular in London flats because they do not need a flue, have no combustion safety requirements, and take up less space.
Are electric boilers expensive to run?
Electric boilers have 100% conversion efficiency (electricity → heat) vs gas boilers at 90-95%, but electricity is more expensive per kWh than gas. In practice electric boilers usually cost more to run than a modern gas boiler — but for off-grid properties or flats where gas is not available, they are the practical choice.

Can you install an electric boiler in my flat?
Usually yes — electric boilers work well in flats because they need no flue, no gas supply, and minimal pipework. Most London flats we quote for are straightforward installs within a cupboard or utility space. Installation £1,500 to £3,000 +VAT depending on boiler size and any electrical upgrade needed.
Do you repair electric boilers the same day?
Where possible yes — common faults (thermostat, heating element, pressure sensor, PCB) can often be diagnosed and fixed the same visit if we have the part on the van. For specialist parts we can usually source the same day.
How often should an electric boiler be serviced?
Annually. Same as gas — keeps your warranty valid and catches small issues before they become expensive. Our electric boiler service is £80 to £120 +VAT.
Is there a call-out fee?
No. Standard call-out and travel included. We diagnose the fault on site before quoting a fixed repair price.
