Annually. OFTEC and every major manufacturer require it to keep the warranty valid, catch safety issues, and maintain efficiency (an unserviced boiler loses 10-15% efficiency per year from soot build-up).
How much is an oil boiler service?
£120 to £180 plus VAT. Varies slightly with boiler type and access. Includes a new nozzle and oil filter (parts included) and a signed OFTEC service report for your warranty.
What does the service include?
Full clean of the combustion chamber, burner strip + inspection + reassemble, new nozzle + oil filter, flue integrity + ventilation checks, combustion analyser readings (efficiency + flue gas), oil pressure + smoke tests, visual safety inspection of oil tank + supply lines, signed service report.
Are you OFTEC registered?
Yes. OFTEC is the governing body for oil heating in the UK.
How long does it take?
Typically 1 to 1.5 hours. Older or awkward installations take a bit longer — we tell you up-front.
What if you find a fault?
Safety-critical faults get flagged immediately. Small repairs we can often do same-visit if the part is on the van. Larger repairs we quote separately and only proceed with your approval.
Do you service oil AGA / range cookers?
Yes — oil-fired AGA and other range cookers are covered under OFTEC. Pricing varies with model — ask when booking.
