Power flushing FAQs

What is a power flush?

A power flush pumps a cleaning solution at high velocity through your central heating system to dislodge and remove sludge, rust, and debris. Improves heating efficiency, cures cold spots at the bottom of radiators, and extends boiler life.

When do I need one?

Cold spots on radiators (especially at the bottom), noisy boiler, dirty water when bleeding radiators, reduced efficiency, or if a new boiler is being fitted to an older system. Most UK boiler warranties require a power flush when the boiler is installed.

How much does a power flush cost?

£350 to £800 plus VAT, depending on system size and contamination level. See asterisk — Final cost varies by system size and contamination level. Heavily blocked systems may need additional work.

How long does it take?

Typically a single day — 6-8 hours for a standard 8-10 radiator system. Larger or heavily contaminated systems can take longer; we tell you up-front.

Do you add an inhibitor?

Yes — after the flush we refill the system with corrosion inhibitor (prevents future sludge build-up). Included in the price.

Could the final price be higher?

Yes — Final cost varies by system size and contamination level. Heavily blocked systems may need additional work. We explain any additional work, quote it separately, and only proceed with your approval.

Is there a call-out fee?

No. Standard call-out and travel always included.
